On April 23rd, the preliminary design of the Changzhou Benniu International Airport terminal expansion project was approved by the Jiangsu Provincial Development and Reform Commission. The project has a total investment of 1.658 billion yuan and mainly includes the expansion of the terminal building by 36,000 square meters, the construction of a new cargo warehouse and business room of 19,000 square meters, the construction of a comprehensive parking building, airport business support room, field service room and secondary radar station, etc., and supporting construction of communication navigation, meteorology, power supply, water supply, fire protection, cooling and heating engineering.

The airport will strengthen its planning according to the preliminary approval and take solid and effective measures to increase work coordination efforts. It will accelerate the completion of construction drawing design and review filing work and promote high-quality project construction work.

Changzhou is currently advancing its “532” development strategy and building a “new energy city” with all its strength. As an important part of the city’s comprehensive transportation system and an important support for Changzhou to build a central hub in the Yangtze River Delta region, the airport will fully enter the “fast lane” of construction, actively integrate into the local development situation, and empower the construction of a modern medium-sized hub airport with complete functions in the Yangtze River Delta region.
