On May 8th, the Jiangsu Provincial Development and Reform Commission and the Civil Aviation Administration of East China officially approved the preliminary design and budget of the expansion project of the Huai’an Lianshui International Airport terminal area, laying a solid foundation for the full start of the main project within the year.

According to the approval, the total budget for this project is 2.842 billion yuan, with a construction period of three years. The new T2 terminal building covers an area of 64,800 square meters and has a front high-rise. The cargo station covers an area of 8,519 square meters and adds 19 new parking spaces. At the same time, supporting facilities for life and production will be built.

The expansion project of Huai’an Lianshui International Airport terminal area is a key transportation infrastructure project in Jiangsu Province. After the project is completed, it will greatly enhance the airport’s comprehensive support capabilities, meet the rapidly growing market demand for passenger and cargo transportation, further enhance Huai’an’s attractiveness to factors such as industry aggregation, market competitiveness and regional driving force, and provide key support for the development of Huai’an aviation cargo hub.
